(YOU OWE US AN) APOLOGY

From Islam's birth we subjected you
To centuries of attack
But when we threatened Byzantium
You had the nerve to strike back

So
You owe us an apology
You owe us an apology
For robbing us of victory
You owe us an apology

We kill your soldiers as savagely
And cunningly as we can
But don't forget the appalling tale
That they abused a Koran

See?
You owe us an apology
You owe us an apology
It wasn't true, but c'est la vie
You owe us an apology

Small things can provoke us greatly
If we've held no riots lately
Rest assured
We'll stage some soon

We're always ready to list your sins
And promises you've not kept
You might as well just accept

That
You owe us an apology
You owe us an apology
No matter if you disagree
You owe us an apology

For living un-Islamically
You owe us an apology

Today and all eternity
You owe us an apology

Notes

centuries of attack: "Before the Sira had been fixed, before the Hadith had been written down, and collected, and winnowed, there were centuries of conquest – a conquest based only on what is contained in the Qur’an"—Hugh Fitzgerald; "In 624, Mohammed led a raid for booty and plunder against a Meccan caravan, killing 70 Meccans for mere material gain. Between 630 A.D. and the death of Mohammed in 632 A.D., Muslims -- on at least one occasion led by Mohammed -- had conquered the bulk of western Arabia and southern Palestine through approximately a dozen separate invasions and bloody conquests. These conquests were in large part 'Holy wars,' putting the lie to another statement in the U.S. News article that proclaimed the Crusades 'The First Holy War,' as if the Christians had invented the concept of a holy war. After Mohammed's death in 632, the new Muslim caliph, Abu Bakr, launched Islam into almost 1,500 years of continual imperialist, colonialist, bloody conquest and subjugation of others through invasion and war, a role Islam continues to this very day"—Richard C. Csaplar, Jr.

the nerve to strike back: "And that is how the First Crusade came about: it was a response to the Byzantine Emperor’s call for help"—Robert Spencer

novel: "Iran's hard-line Revolutionary Guards have declared the death sentence on British author Salman Rushdie is still valid - 16 years after it was issued. The military organisation, loyal to Iran's supreme leader, said the order was 'irrevocable', on the eve of the anniversary of the 1989 fatwa. The order was issued after publication of Mr Rushdie's novel 'The Satanic Verses', condemned as blasphemous" —BBC.co.uk

when we're the ones at fault: "A group of Muslim imams is seeking an out-of-court settlement with US Airways, saying they should not have been removed from a Minnesota-to-Phoenix flight last month and were not behaving suspiciously"—WashingtonTimes.com; "The six imams refused to sit on their assigned seats, moving around the cabin and arranging themselves in a pattern reminiscent of the Sept. 11, 2001 hijackings. Three asked flight attendants for heavy seat belt extenders, but then didn’t use them to buckle up. Witnesses overheard them talking about al-Qaida and Osama bin Laden"—Examiner.com
